Privacy Policy

seedu is a private messaging application for text messages, media sharing, voice messages, calls, file sharing, location sharing, and account recovery. This Privacy Policy explains what information is processed when you use the app and how you can control it.

Information We Process

Depending on how you use seedu, the service may process:

• Account information such as login, display name, username, avatar, language, and settings.
• Authentication data such as password hashes, session tokens, and seed phrase recovery metadata.
• Messages, reactions, read status, typing status, and chat membership data.
• Files and media you choose to upload, including photos, videos, voice messages, stickers, and documents.
• Location coordinates only when you explicitly choose to send a location in a chat.
• Call signaling data needed to establish audio or video calls.
• Push notification tokens used to deliver notifications to your devices.
• Technical data such as timestamps, storage usage, IP-derived request metadata, and server logs needed for security and reliability.

How We Use Information

We use this information to:

• Provide messaging, calling, media upload, push notification, and account recovery features.
• Synchronize chats and messages across your devices.
• Protect accounts, prevent abuse, and maintain service reliability.
• Calculate storage usage and allow users to delete uploaded files or account data.
• Respect privacy settings such as hidden last seen, hidden typing status, and private notification previews.

User Content

seedu allows users to create and share content with other users. You are responsible for the content you send. Messages and uploaded media are stored so they can be delivered and displayed to chat members.

Location

seedu requests location access only when you choose to send your coordinates. The app does not track your location in the background. Shared coordinates become part of the chat message visible to chat members.

Push Notifications

If notifications are enabled, the app registers a push token for your device. Notification content may include sender and message preview information unless you enable privacy settings that hide sender names or mask message text.

Data Sharing

We do not sell personal data. We may use infrastructure providers needed to operate the app, including hosting providers and push notification services such as Firebase Cloud Messaging and Apple Push Notification service. These providers process data only as needed to deliver the service.

Data Retention and Deletion

Data is retained while your account is active or as needed to provide the service. You can delete your account in the app settings. You can also clear your uploaded files from the storage panel. Some data may remain for a limited time in backups or logs where required for security, reliability, or legal obligations.

Security

We use standard transport security such as HTTPS/TLS and authentication tokens to protect communication with the server. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but we work to protect the service against unauthorized access.

Children

seedu is not intended for children under 13. If you believe a child has provided personal data through the service, contact us so we can review and delete it where appropriate.
